Abstract
The article explores the importance for radiologic science educational programs accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology to ensure patient safety by establishing policies that require criminal background checks (CBC) and drug screenings (DS) for students. Topics mentioned include the benefits of conducting clearances, and the factors to consider before implementing CBC and DS including the criminal offenses that prohibit admission.
