Department Chair: Christopher Stevens, Ph.D.
History majors at Misericordia University gain training in the liberal arts and have several professional specializations available to them. Courses can include experiential learning experiences or professional opportunities. Students in our programs graduate having honed their critical research and writing skills and are well-prepared to pursue careers in museums, government agencies, the legal profession, non-profit administration and management, journalism, libraries, education, and a host of other professional paths.
The Government, Law and National Security program (GLNS) provides students with an integrated knowledge of political science, legal studies, and public administration that prepares them for government and the private sector careers related to security, law, and public policy. The GLNS program will prepare students for graduate study in law, government, non-profit administration and public policy, political science, and national security studies.
